Achievements
Transparency International Uganda has focused its programmes and activities on addressing transparency and accountability in service delivery, community empowerment, Education, Health, Private sector, Extractive industries.This has resulted in general understanding of the relationship between poverty and corruption as well as creating reasonable level of knowledge on the impact of corruption on service delivery.
We have carried out diagnostic studies on Transparency and Integrity Risks in Health services delivery in Africa, A survey on Public Expenditure and Utilization of Primary Education funds in Northern Uganda, together with Demgroup Transparency International Uganda monitored the 2011 General elections in Uganda, carried out advocacy for third party monitoring of public procurement process in Uganda, launched a book titled "protecting Business in Uganda against Corruption" and also Transparency and Integrity in Service Delivery in Africa (TISDA) a project focused on transparency and accountability in the health sector.
TARGETING
TI works to ensure that citizens are involved in championing their interests to ensure that good governance principles and best practices are established in public and private service delivery systems at national, local and community level.TI also works to ensure that public institutions, laws, policies and regulation for the good governance of society at different levels are in place and functioning. In the pursuance of its objectives, TIU works with the following groups of poor and marginalized people through village accountability committees which aim to empower local communities with organizational capacity to influence decisions and demand accountability and transparency from duty bearers and decision makers.
